"One of CGNN´s goals is to raise environmental awareness by focusing on children because they are tomorrow´s future," shared Bijay Prajapati, president of CGNN at the program, which began with the screening of their music video ´Hariyo Ban´.
Written and composed by singer Ciney Gurung, the music video is about protecting the forests of Nepal and has been aired on various national channels. Gurung along with former Miss Nepal Sugarika KC are the environment ambassadors of CGNN while singer Nirnaya Shrestha has been involved with the organization as their lifetime honorary member.
With their slogan ´Don´t trash our future´, CGNN primarily works with local communities and schools. One of their ongoing significant projects is Community Compost Project at Adarsha Kanya Niketan Higher Secondary School (AKN) in Patan.
CGNN and AKN eco-club members jointly worked to collect waste from around 100 households in the Durbar Square area to make compost manure.
