The delegation apprised the president about decision of the parties to collectively resist the Maoists´ move to sack the army chief and put the peace process on the verge of collapse.
They claimed that the government´s decision to seek clarification from the army chief with a clear intention to dismiss him from office was against the ongoing peace process and constitution-making process.
"It is not an issue of who was asked for clarification and who took the action but it is an issue of attack on the national security agencies with a view to control them," said Arjun Narsingh KC, a Nepali Congress delegate.
In response, President Yadav said he was aware of the developments and has already taken up the issue with the prime minister. "I have constitutional constraints. I will do my best within the constitutional framework," said KC, quoting the president. "The president suggested us to take up the issue with the prime minister."
Earlier, a meeting of the parties decided to knock on the doors of the president to stop the government from taking further decision on the army chief.
