Investigating DSP threatened
Deputy Superintendent of Police (DSP) Pawan Kumar Giri, who is investigating Thimure killings, has received phone threats from a person calling himself a Nepal Army soldier.
Calling from 9807543984 and 9847864197 at DSP Giri´s cell number 9847036034, the man threatened to finish Giri´s family saying he had already gathered all information on Giri´s family, home and address.
Giri has presented a report about the threat at the District Court along with date, time, cell numbers and call details obtained from Nepal Telecom and N-Cell through government attorney.
Giri refused to speak to myrepublica.com about the matter citing professional dignity and said he has reported the incident to the concerned authority.
But government attorney Khada Nanda Gautam conceded that Giri has mentioned that the man threatened by saying "I am an army man, why are you after Tara Balami?" in his report. "I used the statement while pleading during Sunday´s hearing on the case," Gautam added.
Gautam revealed that records at Nepal Telecom and NCell show that the numbers are being registered in the name of Tara Balami who is posted at the Naya Gorakh Battalion of Fulbari Barrack in Pokhara.
