Winning the toss, Nepal elected to field first and bowled out Malaysia for 51 in 21.2 overs. Nepal lost three wickets cheaply but needed only 15.2 overs to complete a comprehensive victory.
Rekha Rawal, bowling second over, got Malaysian opener Efilla Tukok on her first ball to put the opponent on defensive play.
Other opener Christina Baret was, however, defiant and stayed until the 13th over. Baret scored 13 off 42 balls before becoming a victim of Sita Magar. Zoe Landry tried to wage a lone battle by scoring 8 off 20 balls but it failed to count as all other batswomen failed to stay long in the center.
Magar, Rawal and Keshari Chaudhary returned with two wickets each while Sona Khadka, captain Nary Thapa and Binu Magar got a wicket each.
Malaysia also benefited from 21 extras thrown away by Nepali bowlers.
Nepal`s reply was steady with opener Maya Rawat and (Sita) Magar scoring 16 runs in five overs. Magar (4) was bowled out by Landry in the first ball of sixth over.
Trishna Singh made seven off 16 balls with a boundary before being caught out off A Shunmugam making it 25/2 for Nepal at the end of eight overs.
Roshani Bohara was out first ball as Malaysia put some pressure. But player of the match (Binu) Magar ensured Nepal´s victory with a quickfire innings of 17 off 25 deliveries with two fours.
Nepal will face Bhutan on Sunday.
