13 more COVID-19 cases confirmed, tally jumps to  1,811

KATHMANDU, June 1: The Ministry of Health and Population has confirmed 13 new cases of COVID-19 on Monday evening.


According to Dr Samir Kumar Adhikary, joint spokesperson for the ministry, the newly-diagnosed patients are from Province 5. Now the COVID-19 tally in the province has reached  634.

Seven males (two aged 26 each and one each aged 19, 21, 27, 35 and 40) from Mayadevi Rural Municipality in Kapilvastu district, two males (aged 17 and 36) from Palpa’s Nisdi Rural Municipality were diagnosed with this viral disease. Similarly, a six-year-old boy of Sarawal Rural Municipality (Nawalparasi), a 26 –year-old youth from Resunga Municipality (Gulmi) also tested positive for COVID-19. The ministry also confirmed that a three-year-old girl child and a 54-year-old male of Gaidahawa Rural Municipality in Rupandehi district contracted this virus.  


Swab samples of all of them were tested at the Rupandehi-based Provincial Public Health Laboratory.


Nepal earlier today reported 226 other cases, the highest single-day increase in COVID-19  cases.  


With this, COVID-19 tally in Nepal has reached 1,811. Of them, 221 have recovered while eight have died so far due to this infection.
