COVID-19 recovery tally goes past 100,000 while death tally jumps to 812
KATHMANDU, Oct 22: The total number of people infected by the novel coronavirus disease (COVID-19) in Nepal is getting closer to 150,000 with 3,637 new cases confirmed on Thursday, the Ministry of Health and Population (MoHP) reported.

Since the first case of the disease was detected on January 23 earlier this year, the country’s caseload has reached 148,509 as of Thursday afternoon.
The recovery tally in the country on Thursday went past 100,000 with 3,215 people who had earlier tested positive for the virus getting recovery in the past 24 hours. As of today, 102,820 people gained recovery from this disease while the death tally climbs to 812 with 21 more fatalities in the past 24 hours.
As of Thursday, there are a total of 44,877 active cases of the disease across the country.
Meanwhile, the Kathmandu Valley witnessed 1,552 new cases – 1283 in Kathmandu, 112 in Bhaktapur and 157 in Lalitpur districts – taking the total number of COVID-19 cases in the Valley to 63,631.
