Deputy President of the Nepal Red Cross Society, Linkhim said property worth around Rs 15 million was damaged in the fire. He, however, said the loss could be higher as expensive crops like cardamom and chiraito were also burnt in the fire.
Some locals claimed the fire broke out due to short circuit, while others said children might have started it while playing. Over 41 houses in the district were damaged in fire last year.
