The event will begin with the amateur golfers teaming up with the pros in the Pro-Am event on Monday. Forty-eight golfers including 15 professionals will take part in the Pro-Am event. Twenty-nine among the 33 amateurs are local golfers.
The professional event will be held from December 29-31 over 54 holes in stroke play format, unlike the previous year when the event was held in 36 holes format for two days. In all, 24 professionals including five locals will participate in the event.
Nepal Professional Golfers´ Association is the organizer of the event, which is sponsored by Surya Nepal Pvt Ltd.
The winner will get Rs 72,000 and the top 20 players will also receive their share of cash prizes, while the rest will get consolation awards.
