MYAGDI, July 16: A statistics shows that 1,136 children aged between five and 16 years have no access to school education.

These children do not attend any schools due to lack of public awareness and poor economic condition. Neither has the local adminsitration taken any move to make the children attend schools though the country recieves millions of rupees under the "Education for All" campaign.[break]

Some children are also found wandering around the district headquarters, as the Village Education Committee (VEC) was not formed in all the VDCs. The local residents blame for ineffective implementation and improper monitoring of children out of schools though it is mentioned in the Education Act that VEC should be formed in all the VDCs.

According to research and survey carried out by the District Education Office in the last fiscal year, a high number of children, who have no access to school education, was in Arman VDC and the least in Ramche.

District Education Officer, Bishnu Narayan Shrestha, said Rs 1.36 million grant has been provided to 12 VDCs this year for free and compulsory basic education.
