ITAHARI, Dec 2: Sunsari district witnessed 11 murders in four months as people have started feeling insecure due to killers at large.
On September 9, Surendra Majhi, 22, of Barahachhetra-6, was murdered by three youths after he made a mockery of them. He reportedly made fun of the youths for the choice of their work in foreign land.

Police arrested Sharan Tamang, 21, of Morang, and Shakti Tamang, 23, of Barahachhetra-6, in connection with the incident. Jitendra Urab of Inaruwa-10 is at large. They had dumped Majhi's body in Saptakoshi River after committing the crime.
Other victims murdered in the district include Mohammad Fida Husain of Duhabi-9; Imtiyaj Miya, 15, of Itahari-11; Maulana Khursid Alam, 50, of Harinagar-2, who was the operator and principal of Rairayan National School; and Anjali Kumari Chaudhari of Duhabi-11.
Many of the murder accused are still at large. Cases of serial killing have made people of Sunsari very insecure and unsafe.
