KATHMANDU, Jan 12: At least seven people have been killed after a truck veered off the road close to Siddha Baba temple near Butwal, on Sunday night, according to Nepal FM.
The truck tipped off the road into a rivulet 50 meters below. The cause and time of the accident is not yet known.
The deceased have been identified as Maharami Chaudhary, 47, Sudhan Chaudhary, 44, Kanaiya Chaudhary, 24, Govinda Chaudhary, 36, Biren Chaudhary, 26, and Bhumisudhan Chaudhary, 44. All were from Brakalpur of Kapilbastu district, according to Ujyaalo FM. Two of the injured are currently undergoing treatment at Lumbini Zonal Hospital.
Meanwhile, four people died in a separate accident in Bardiya district, when two passenger buses coming from opposite directions collided at Sainbar on Monday morning, said Ujyaalo FM. Another 28 passengers were injured during the incident. One of the deceased has been identified as 28-year-old Nirmala Khadka of Shivapur VDC, Bardiya. The injured are undergoing treatment at the Medical College Teaching Hospital, Kohalpur.
