101 new COVID-19 infections, 285 recoveries in past 24 hours; national tally reaches 17,445

KATHMANDU, July 17: Nepal’s COVID-19 tally has reached 17,445. 


Of the 4,688 real time PCR tests conducted at 27 labs across the country, 101 people tested positive for this viral disease in the last 24 hours,

Speaking at a regular media briefing of the health and population ministry, spokesperson Dr Jageshwar Gautam said that  285 more patients returned home on Friday after recovery. With this, the total number of patients discharged from hospitals after recovery has climbed to 11,534, which accounts for 66.12 percent of the total infected cases. 


As of Friday afternoon, 5,871 active cases have been reported in the country.
