According to HSEB officials, the schools that have come forward with such proposals are the same ones that have been providing technical education for grade nine and 10, said HSEB officials.The HSEB is preparing to make curriculum and textbooks for technical subjects at plus-two level public on Friday, according to Chaitanya Sharma, vice chairperson of the board.
The HSEB said it would send monitoring teams to examine the preparedness of the institutions that have shown interest to run technical classes.
"The institutions will be granted affiliation based on the report of the monitoring teams," said Sharma. If everything works as planned, grade 11 classes for the TSLC graduates could start from September 1, said Sharma.
"The curriculum and textbook preparation was the major task. Since it has been completed, other things will move ahead at a rapid pace," said Sharma.
The schools running technical education at plus-two level would be affiliated to HSEB just as other higher secondary schools once they meet all the criteria of infrastructure and teachers.
Meanwhile, the predicted date for starting the technical classes, September 1, is already behind the academic calendar for 11th graders by a month, which might hit the students.
The government in 2012 at first introduced the technical education at school level at 99 technical schools. Over 3,000 students, the first batch of the TSLC, passed the exams this year.
Until now technical education was provided only by institutions affiliated to the Council for Technical Education and Vocational Training (CTEVT).
