Where to study after +2 ?

KATHMANDU, August 24: One doesn’t need to go to a foreign country to receive quality education. If we are to draw a parallel between studying abroad and in Nepal, it is more convenient and economical to study within the country.

Things have gotten much easier now that colleges in Kathmandu have started collaborating with abroad-based institutes to introduce initiatives like study-abroad programs and international guest speaker series. Many provide spacious and conducive educational environment with particular focus on personality enhancement, industrial internship and job placement.

 For all those that are still weighing in different possibilities on where to study, following is a profile of eight well-established colleges in Kathmandu. These institutions provide exciting academic and non-academic opportunities and deserve a quick read, even if you have figured what to do next.

Texas College of Management and IT, under Texas Int’l Education Network (2009), is a dynamic educational institution with outstanding academic programs BBA and MBA, affiliated to Lincoln University.

The Master in Business Administration (MBA) and Bachelors in Business Administration (BBA) courses are offered by Lincoln University College (LUC) through its learning center. These courses are internationally accredited and approved by Ministry of Education as TU equivalent. One can benefit from credit transfer system offered at Texas College. The college graduates have secured both domestic and international internships and job placements. Banking internships are provided to students based on their performance in internal assessments.

We provide Professional Career Counseling (PCC), Continuous Assessment System (CAS) as a part of its MBA and BBA programs. 

In addition, BSW and BSc CSIT courses are provided at Texas College. It has its own IT Company, Softech Foundation, where computer students can explore and develop projects of their own. Moreover, Softech Foundation has set up a Research and Innovation Centre in IT Park, Banepa.

These provisions allow students in their sixth and eighth semesters to intern at the IT Park. We also provide personality-development training along with professional training to help students transition smoothly into the real world.
