Soaltee Hotel in Kathmandu launches Bengali Food Festival

KATHMANDU, May 24:Soaltee Hotel in Kathmandu has launched the Bengali Food Festival from Wednesday at its Garden Terrace, the hotel's all-day dining restaurant.

One can experience the rich tapestry of Bengali culture, music, and cuisine, as the festival offers an opportunity to  indulge in an unforgettable culinary adventure, according to a press statement issued by the Hotel. The festival will continue till May 31.

Upon arrival, guests are warmly welcomed with the vibrant colors and hospitality of Bengal, as the staff dress in traditional Bengali attire. Indulge in a refreshing array of welcome drinks including Daab Sarbat, Aam Panna, Shikanji, and Mishti Lassi, setting the tone for an authentic Bengali feast, according to the organizer.

Throughout the festival, the buffet lunch and dinner will feature an exquisite selection of traditional Bengali delicacies. From tantalizing starters like Begun Bhaja with Yogurt Chutney (fried eggplant fritters), to sumptuous main courses including Aloo Begun Machher Jhol, Aloo Begun Murgir Jhol, Sukha Gosht and Kosha Mangsho, there's something to tantalize every palate. 

For the vegetarian guests, there are delectable options such as Dahi Baingan, Mochar Ghonto, and Dal Cholar. And no Bengali meal is complete without fragrant rice dishes like Ghee Bhat, Khichuri, or Bengali Biryani, accompanied by sides like Aloo Posto and Shorshe Fish. The festival also presents a sweet finale featuring Mishti Doi, Rasogolla, Sandesh, and Patishapta, sure to satisfy any sweet tooth.
