Crusaders for promoting 'Lipi' through calligraphy

Calligraphy is also known as the art of beautiful handwriting. According to the term calligraphy may have been derived from the Greek words for "beauty" (kallos) and "to write" (graphein).

Moreover, former Miss Newa and a media person Sunita Dangol and Type Designer Ananda K. Maharjan, who are co-founders of Callijatra, began conducting calligraphy workshops in Nepal in 2017.

Their workshops focus on calligraphy techniques for Ranjana script, Nepal script and other scripts along with learning their rules.

Till now, they have conducted more than 40 workshops in the nation and also represented Nepal for the first time in the world's renowned Association Typographique Internationale  (ATypI) 2019, an annual fall conference dedicated to typography and type design,  held in Tokyo, Japan. They have also conducted calligraphy workshops for Nepal script and Ranjana script abroad.

In this video, they share their journey of becoming educators, how one can generate income using calligraphy and the importance of the scripts and more.
