JHAPA, July 3: CPN-UML has opened an account in the second round of local elections in the district.
UML candidate Rajendra Pokharel has been elected as the mayor of Kankai Municipality.

Pokharel got 8,480 votes. His closest rival of Nepali Congress Ekraj Uprety got 6197 votes.
Similarly, UML candidate Manju Prasai has been elected as the deputy chief of the municipality with 8, 576 votes while her closest rival of Nepali Congress got 6, 579 votes.
