KATHMANDU, Dec 12: Nepali para table tennis player Swikrit Neupane has won a silver medal at the Asian Youth Para Games currently underway in Dubai, United Arab Emirates.
Neupane secured the medal in the U-23 Men’s Singles (Class 7) category. In Thursday’s final, he was defeated 3–2 by Ren-Ting Huang of Chinese Taipei, narrowly missing out on the gold.

He won the first set 13–11 and the third set 12–10, but lost the second set 11–6, the fourth set 11–5, and the deciding fifth set 12–10.
Before reaching the final, Neupane had defeated Vroxzield Barge Cabnero of the Philippines 3–1. During the league phase, he also registered victories against players from Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, and Iraq.
In the women’s category, Nirmala Bhandari represented Nepal in table tennis, though she did not secure a medal.
According to National Para Table Tennis Association Chair Ganes KC, Nepal is participating in table tennis, athletics, taekwondo, and weightlifting at the Dubai 2025 Asian Youth Para Games, which will run until December 14.
