PM Karki to expand cabinet for fourth time: Four ministers to take oath today

According to sources at the President’s Office, the new ministers will be Shraddha Shrestha, Madhav Chaulagain, Rajendra Singh Bhandari and Kumar Ignam.

KATHMANDU, Dec 12: Prime Minister Sushila Karki is set to expand her cabinet for the fourth time by inducting four new ministers today.



Earlier on Thursday, she met President Ramchandra Paudel at Sheetal Niwas to discuss the expansion. According to sources at the President’s Office, the new ministers will be Shraddha Shrestha, Madhav Chaulagain, Rajendra Singh Bhandari and Kumar Ignam.

While Shrestha is expected to be assigned the Ministry of Women, Children and Senior Citizens, Chaulagain is set to be given the portfolio of the Ministry of Forests and Environment. Similarly, Bhandari will assume the role of Minister of Labour, Employment and Social Security and Ignam as Minister for Land Management, Cooperatives and Poverty Alleviation. 


The swearing-in ceremony for the new ministers is scheduled for 3 PM today.
