KATHMANDU, Dec 26: Leaders of Nepali Congress (NC), UCPN (Maoist) and United Democratic Madhesi Front (UDMF) held a meeting at NC President Sushil Koirala’s residence in Maharajgunj on Saturday.

UDMF leader Ram Naresh Raya said that they requested the major parties to concentrate on solving Madhes issue by postponing the meeting of parliament slated for tomorrow.

“They focused on constitution amendment bill,” Raya said, “But, we reiterated that amendment alone won’t solve Madhes unrest.”

According to him, NC and UCPN (Maoist) said they need to discuss the matter with UML and Speaker.

Parliament is set to begin deliberation on the bill from Sunday.

NC President Koirala, UCPN (Maoist) Chairman Pushpa Kamal Dahal and Mahanta Thakur, Upendra Yadav, Raya and Mahendra Yadav among other leaders from UDMF attended the meet.
