A two day-long central committee meeting of the party on Sunday decided to hold local and provincial conventions of the party by mid September. Province-level convention of the party will start from mid May.The party has also decided to finalize the procedures for convention of party sister wings by April third week.
The meeting had unanimously endorsed party chairman Pushpa Kamal Dahal's proposal on party work plans for a year. According to chief secretary of the party Hitraj Pandey the party has decided to conclude party membership renewal work by mid of May.
Party Chairman Dahal had lauded the party's activities and mass attraction to the party while revising party's activities. The meeting further instructed ministers from the party to make their work more accountable and effective. Bir Bahadur Gole and Dharmashila Chapagain have been added to the central committee of the party from the meeting.
UCPN (Maoist) has also decided to initiate party unification process among other Maoist parties in the country.
Expressing dissatisfaction over the ongoing reconstruction efforts, the party had drawn the attention of the government to expedite reconstruction work in the quake affected districts.
