Two killed in excavator accident in Humla

Two people, including the driver, died in an excavator accident that occurred last night in the southern region of Chankheli Rural Municipality in Humla district.

KATHMANDU, April 14: Two people, including the driver, died in an excavator accident that occurred last night in the southern region of Chankheli Rural Municipality in Humla district.


According to Deputy Superintendent of Police (DSP) Shankar Pokharel of the District Police Office, the deceased have been identified as 45-year-old Parbal Kami and 31-year-old excavator driver Arjun Kami, both residents of Chankheli Rural Municipality-2. DSP Pokharel stated that both individuals died during the course of treatment.

The excavator, (Pra 2.03.001 Ka 975), reportedly overturned and fell about 100 meters down the road.


The accident occurred when driver Arjun Kami was operating a malfunctioning excavator and it suddenly veered off the road and plunged downhill. Both injured individuals were taken to the Shreemastha Primary Health Post for treatment but could not be saved.
