According to a media note released by the US Department of State, Melanne Verveer, ambassador at-large for Global Women´s Issues, will arrive in Kathmandu on January 6 after her two-day trip to Bangladesh.
Ambassador Verveer will focus on promoting the role of women in conflict and post-conflict situations.
The envoy will hold discussion on the US National Action Plan on Women, Peace, and Security and the implementation of UN Security Council Resolution 1325 during her meeting with government leaders, civil society representatives and the NGO community.
Ambassador Verveer will return to Washington on January 9.
