Three injured in tusker attack

BHADRAPUR, Jan 8: Three people from a single family have been injured in elephant attack in Lakahanpur in Jhapa district.



The injured are 42-year-old Bel Bahadur Katuwal, his wife Kalpana, 38 and their son Yadu, 11, of Simle, Lakhanpur VDC-1. Wild elephants numbering two to three that entered the village by crossing the border with India on Saturday night went on a rampage and attacked the Katuwal family, it is learnt. [break]



Among the injured, Kalpana is in serious condition and is undergoing treatment at Neuro Hospital in Biratnagar. The father and the son have returned home after general treatment. Before this, three people were killed in an attack by wild elephants at Prithvinagar VDC in the district three days back.
