Substandard cooking oil sold in Dhadingbensi

GAJURI, June 7: Different brands of cooking oil that government institutions had named as harmful to human health are found to have been sold in Dhading district.

The Department of Food Technology and Quality Control has already cautioned the consumers not to use some brands of cooking oil stating that they are harmful to health.


But, locals in Dhadingbensi, the district headquarters, said that they found the substandard cooking oil being sold in the market. According to the Consumers Protection Act, those involved in production and sales of the substandard goods would be fine Rs 50,000 and two years in jail. RSS
