SPORTS BRIEFS: Classic into final

KATHMANDU, July 11: Classic College on Wednesday advanced into the final of the First Pyramid Inter College 3X3 Basketball Tournament in girls´ section. Sabina Tamang´s seven points guided Classic for a 9-7 victory over NASA in the semifinal match played at the home court of Pyramid College. Classic will face the winner of the match between Saipal and GoldenGate.



In the boy´s category, Morgan A and Trinity advanced into the final. Morgan A defeated Morgan B 18-13 with the help of Narhari Gautam´s 10 points. Tenzing Yosi´s seven points helped Trinity A for a 14-10 victory over National B. [break]



Avenues into last eight


KATHMANDU: Avenues Television thrashed Radio Upatyeka 7-0 to advance into the quarterfinals of the Fifith Media Cup Knockout Football Tournament on Wednesday. Karan Dhungana completed a hat-trick while Diwakar Shah and Shree Hari Thapa scored two goals each for the winning team. In another match played at Buddhi Bikash Mandal, South Asian Sports Journalist Association (SASJA) edged past Karobar Daily 1-0. Rajesh Thapa scored the winning goal for SASJA.
