Corporate and Media XI led by Kailash Shirohiya beat the Chief Secretary XI led by former Chief Secretary Madhav Prashad Ghimire by 13 runs. [break]Electing to bat, Corporate and Media XI put up 51/2 in five overs as Nalin Madirata scored 21 runs. In reply, Chief Secretary XI could reach only 38/1 in five overs.
In the main draw of the tournament, Standard Chartered Bank, Civil Bank, Surya Nepal, Century Bank, Sunrise Bank, Nepal Bank and Sanima Bank won their respective matches on Sunday.

Standard Chartered defeated Morang Auto Works (MAW) by 11 runs. Standard Chartered put up 73/3 in five overs and restricted MAW at 62/5 in five overs.
Civil Bank defeated Janta Bank by 29 runs. Civil Bank put up 75/4 in five overs and restricted Janta Bank 46/3 in five overs despite Ramesh Maharjan added unbeaten 31 runs for the losing side. Bhola Bahadur Bista claimed two wickets for Civil Bank.
In the third match of the day, Surya Nepal put up 68/2 in five overs and restricted United Spirit Nepal at 58/3 in five overs to pull a 10-run victory.
Century Bank edged past NIC Bank by six wickets. Chasing the 64-run target, set by NIC Bank, Century reached 67/1 in 4.4 overs. Abhaya Rana scored 32 runs off 13 balls and claimed a wicket to script the victory of Century.
Likewise, Sunrise Bank beat Siddhartha Bank by five wickets. Siddhartha put up 69/2 in five overs. In reply, Sunrise scored 72/1 in 4.5 overs as Rajan K Khadgi contributed unbeaten 33 runs off 15 balls.
Nepal Bank edged past Himalayan Bank by nine runs. Nepal Bank put up 82/1 in five overs as Samir Giri scored 32 runs. In reply, Himalayan could reach only 73/2 in five overs.
In the last match of the day, Sanima Bank elected to bat first against Nepal Life Insurance and put up 99/1 in five overs. Sajan Shrestha scored 31 runs for Sanima. In reply, Nepal Life Insurance reached only 49/3 in five overs to hand a 50-run victory to Sanima.
Altogether 24 corporate teams are participating in the six-a-side cricket tournament that concludes on November 9.
The participating teams are slated in eight different groups. Top two teams will qualify for the pre-quarterfinals. Soaltee Crowne Plaza has been organizing the annual event with the theme of "All Play No Work" for the last 14 years.
