“Even power cuts have not deterred consumers from buying refrigerators. Hence, we have introduced high-end refrigerators targeting urban consumers who are more health conscious and see fridges as more than just a cooling device these days,” said Binay Tripathi, deputy general manager of Him Electronics.
He informed Republica that demand for refrigerators is soaring as it is the peak of the summer when the demand is higher compared to the rest of the year.
Of the newly launched models, Samsung French Door refrigerator RF67DEPN costs Rs 167,990 while the side-by-side models, including RS21HUTPN, RS21HZLMR and RS26MBZBL, are available in the range of Rs 139,990 to Rs 169,990.
Samsung French Door refrigerators come with twin cooling refrigerators with five times more cooling capacity than other typical refrigerators and a café look dispenser.
“It has a full touch panel that not only makes controlling the functions a simple job but also is pleasant to touch,” added Tripathi.
According to Tripathi, the side-by-side models of RS21HUTPN, RS21HZLMR and RS26MBZBL has freezer set on the lower part of the body and holds ice dispenser on the upper part. “Hence, these refrigerators are popular among people who consume more ice,” he stated.
Samsung RS21HZLMR, on the other hand, comes with a mini-bar. As a result, separate ice trays are not required. The movable fresh box is easier to carry and has optimized storage capacity.
All the new models have capacity of up to 579 to 801 liters, depending on the model and are available in different colors and the company has a target of selling around 100 units of high end refrigerators in this fiscal year.
