"The entry of UA55 and UA46 models of ES800 series of Samsung smart TV will surely take the Nepali market by storm. Now viewers can turn on the TV, switch channels, surf the internet and carry out a host of other activities through voice commands and gestures," said Binay Tripathi, deputy general manager of Him Electronics.[break]
The new models are available in 55-inch and 46-inch models. The company has fixed the price of UA46ES800 at Rs 359,990 and UA55ES800 at Rs 459,990.
A built-in camera at its front and microphones enable the viewers to give their commands, he added.
The process is pretty easy as one can set commands of as many as five persons at a time. Once set up, the TV will readily respond to the command of the registered persons.
Samsung had first launched the new smart televisions in the international market on March 18, 2012 in Bangkok.
"The new smart televisions are an example of how people are watching television these days. We are hopeful it will gain popularity in the local market," said Tripathi.
Smart televisions have a developed a software developers kit (SDK) which helps developers create specialized apps and games.
Samsung ES800 series television also come with a new touchpad remote control, 3D screen and AllShare play, which allows users to access content from any compatible device.
