Samsung launches it’s slimmest-ever smartphone

Samsung has expanded its metal-clad Galaxy A-series line-up with the launch of the Galaxy A8 in China. At just 5.9mm, the phablet is also samsung's thinnest smartphone till date.

Samsung Galaxy A8 sports a 5.7-inch full HD(1080x1920p) Super AMOLED display, the largest in the range.


Powered by a 1.5GHz 64-bit Qualcomm Snapdragon octa-core processor and 2GB RAM, the phone comes in 16 and 32GB storage options with a microSD card slot for expansion.

It features a 16MP ISOCELL rear camera and a 5MP front-facing camera similar to the Galaxy S6. The phone comes with a 3050mAh battery and runs Android 5.1 Lollipop with Samsung's TouchWiz UI. The Galaxy A8 also sports a fingerprint scanner integrated with the phone's Home button.

In terms of connectivity, the phone supports 3G, 4G (both FDD LTE and TDD LTE), Bluetooth 4.1 and GPS.
