A district committee member of UCPN-Maoist Kami Budha, 25, of Sahartara-3, and area committee members Malam Budha and Chandra Bahadur Budha, 22, were critically injured in the clash, according to Deputy Superintendent of Police (DSP) in Dolpa Madhusudan Khadka. [break]
The three sustained injuries to their head, limbs and different parts of their bodies and they have been sent to Kathmandu for treatment.
The injured UCPN-Maoist cadres claimed that RPP cadres suddenly attacked them with sharp weapons when they were returning after picking yarsagumba herbs.
Kami Budha said the RPP youths have established a youth club and that they have been terrorizing the locals with extortion threats. Dolpa Police arrested over a dozen RPP cadres on Sunday in connection with the incident.
