The band has enjoyed popularity for more than 20 years in India and will be mesmerizing audiences on July 18, 2012 at the auditorium of Nepal Army Officers Club in Tripureshwor.
The band, which has an international audience, has stood apart in the music genre for not going with the demands of the market. They have been noted to pay more attention to the art form of music.

Expressing their motive behind the event, the organizers said, “Given the fact that both India and Nepal share close cultural ties – from language to tradition, literature and music, this musical evening aims to for further strengthen our people to people relations,” through a press release.
Indian Ocean, over the years, since their inception in the early 90’s, has been one of the leading bands in the Indian Rock scene with a cult following. Composing and playing songs on unconventional genres like environmentalism and mythology, the band refrains from associating itself with a particular genre.
“It’s been a while since we wanted to have the band perform for the Nepali Audience,” said Avash Karmacharya, Press and Political officer for the Indian Embassy, adding “We understand that there are a lot of rock music enthusiasts in Nepal and we hope they will enjoy the show.”
The passes for the show are being distributed free of cost. Interested ones can collect passes from the Nepal Bharat Library located in Sundhara, Indian Cultural Center in Balmandir, Naxal or the Indian Embassy in Lainchaur.
