Sanjaya Poudel of Kathmandu sustained bullet injuries to his stomach but was lucky to survive as the bullet only brushed through his body, according to Police Inspector Hari Khatiwada at Area Police Office, Mirchaiya. Poudel was rushed to the BP Koirala Institute of Health Sciences in Dharan.
The incident took place at around 11:00 pm last night. Poudel who was working to complete his contract on gravelling and road adjoining the Kamala River was temporarily residing in Dumari.
The assailants have not yet been identified and an investigation is underway into the incident, police said. RSS
