Re-election to be held for NC president

KATHMANDU, March 7: None of the three Nepali Congress (NC) candidates were able to garner the repaired 1575 votes to win the election.

Deuba got 1564 votes still he was short of 11 votes. Similarly Ram Chandra Poudel got 1160 votes and Krishna Prasad Sitaula received 324 votes. 101 votes were declared invalid.

Second round of election will be held bet Deuba and Poudel.   This is the first time in NC history that a re-election will be held for the post of party president.
