Raju into pre-quarterfinal

KATHMANDU, Nov 18: Raju Putuwar Nagarkoti advanced in the pre-quarterfinals of the World Soft Tennis Championship being held in New Delhi, India.



National champion Raju beat Lee of Vietnam in the first match 4-0 and recorded 4-0 win over Waren of Canada in the second match of the Group A to secure last 16 berth.

Raju will meet opponent from Philippines in the pre-quarterfinals. Meanwhile, Kamal Bahadur Bhandari beat K Alex of Brazil 4-0 in the first match but lost to Yuta of Japan 4-0 in the second match of the Group L.


Similarly, Niru Kayastha faced 4-2 defeat against Jenifer of Germany and Dede Tari of Indonesia respectively in women's section of Group I, while Aliza Ranjit also went down 4-0 against Dares of Thailand and Archana of India in Group J.
