BANKE, Oct 5: Banke District Administration Office has enforced prohibitory orders in several areas of Nepalgunj Sub-Metropolitan City, Dudhua Rural Municipality, and Narainapur Rural Municipality following a clash between two communities during Durga idol immersion on Friday.
Chief District Officer Dharmaraj Joshi announced that the order came into effect from 7 PM on Saturday and will remain in place until further notice.
Prohibitory orders must be eased but scientifically: Experts
The restricted areas include the entire Ward No. 14 of Nepalgunj Sub-Metropolitan City; Suiya and Piprahawa of Ward No. 15; and Bhajipurwa, Janglipurwa, and Loharanpurwa of Ward No. 23. Similarly, all of Ward No. 6 of Dudhua Rural Municipality and Ward No. 5 of Narainapur Rural Municipality fall under the prohibitory order.
Authorities reported incidents of arson at some local shops in Hirminiya of Dudhua–6 and warned of possible escalation of unrest. To maintain peace and order, all forms of gatherings, rallies, meetings, processions, and assemblies of more than five people have been banned.
