CHITWAN, Feb. 8: President of Federation of Nepalese Chambers of Commerce and Industry (FNCCI) Kush Kumar Joshi said the private sector has pinned hope on the new government led by CPN-UML Chairman Jhala Nath Khanal.

The last government gave pain instead of relief to the private sector, he said inaugurating the 12th convention of Ratnanagar Chambers of Commerce and Industry on Tuesday.[break]

The nation will prosper if the present government takes all political parties into confidence, he said.

The first and foremost need of the hour, he said, is to write the new constitution and take the peace process to a logical conclusion.

Since the transition period has battered the private sector the new government should have to bring in new programmes for the development of the private sector, he said.

The FNCCI chief also urged the parties to select able leader as the Industry Minister who can understand the problems of the private sector.

The convention that will conclude tomorrow will elect a new leadership.
