KATHMANDU, May 11: The foundation stone for the construction of a new building at Siddhanath Secondary School in Dhangadhi Sub-Metropolitan City–12 of Kailali district was laid on Sunday with financial assistance from the Government of India, according to a press release issued by the Embassy of India in Kathmandu.
The foundation stone was laid by Narayan Singh, First Secretary at the Embassy of India, Kathmandu.
India-supported school building inaugurated in Kailali
According to the embassy, the school building is being constructed with an estimated financial assistance of Rs 36 million from the Government of India under the High Impact Community Development Project (HICDP) initiative. The project will be implemented through Dhangadhi Sub-Metropolitan City.
The mayor of Dhangadhi Sub-Metropolitan City and other stakeholders appreciated India’s support and expressed confidence that the new infrastructure would help improve the learning environment for students and teachers, the embassy said.
The Embassy of India stated that Nepal and India continue to engage in multi-sectoral cooperation as close neighbours, adding that the implementation of such projects reflects India’s continued support for Nepal’s development and infrastructure expansion in priority sectors.
