Prez, PM discuss political crisis, budget

KATHMANDU, Nov 1: Prime Minister Baburam Bhattarai called on President Ram Baran Yadav at the latter´s official residence in Shital Niwas on Thursday.



The meeting between the head of state and the head of government focused on the current political deadlock and the unveiling of full fiscal budget. [break]



During the meet, PM Bhattarai briefed President Yadav on the progress made by the political parties to end the existing political crisis and assured the president of the political parties´ continuous effort to give the country an outlet within November 22, PM’s aide Prashant Lamichhane informed Republica Online.



The president also suggested that the prime minister bring new budget only through political consensus and urged to forge consensus at the earliest.



PM Bhattarai emerging out from the meeting said, "The president urged to unveil new budget only through political consensus and also said that there is no alternative to forging consensus to end the existing impasse."



“The current political deadlock should be brought to an end and I will extend my complete support to resolve the crisis,” said Lamichhane quoted President Yadav as saying.
