SINDHUPALCHOWK, Jan 3: President Dr Ram Baran Yadav said on Thursday that he would remain unperturbed at this time of political crisis in the country and that any move he would make to end the impasse would be well within constitutional limits.

“If I lose my composure now, that will not do good to the country. I will play my role as guardian abiding by the interim constitution,” the state head said while attending the diamond jubilee function of Sarada Higher Secondary School here in Barhabise. [break]

He was of the view that all political parties should work together for consensus and the resolution of the current crisis. “An all-party government should be formed to hold new Constituent Assembly elections, and only such government can preserve democracy and provide stability,” Yadav added.

President Yadav also ascribed the demise of the erstwhile CA to shortcomings of the parties. It is the parties’ fault to not be able to promulgate the new constitution, despite the fact that the term of the CA then got extended four times.
