KATHMANDU, Sept 15: Minister for Information and Communications and government’s spokesperson Raj Kishor Yadav said that the Interim Constitution has not provided the president with the right to form and dissolve the government.

Speaking at Reporters’ Club on Saturday, the minister warned that the president should face consequences if he tries to take any steps that he has not been granted by the constitution. [break]

“I don’t think the president will take any steps to dissolve the government,” he said adding, “If any steps are taken, UCPN (Maoist) and Madhesi Front will jointly challenge such moves.”

Referring to ordinances forwarded by the government, the minister expected that the president would endorse it.

“If the president rejected the ordinances, we will re-submit them. The president cannot reject ordinances twice and they automatically get endorsed,” Yadav claimed.
