Police yet to find clue on ASI Subba murder case

LAHAN, Jan 5:  Police have yet to find any clue regarding the killers of the Assistant Sub-Inspector (ASI) Ramesh Subba even after 18 hours of the incident.



Despite carrying out search operation overnight after sealing the border, police failed to find any clue regarding the people who carried out in the crime.

SP Bhim Dhakal, Saptari district Police Chief, also acknowledged the fact. He, however, expressed his hope that police will soon nab the perpetrators. He added that police will soon find success on the case as they have intensified the search campaign coordinating with their Indian counterparts across the border.


According to SP Dhakal, ASI Subba was shot dead by an armed group while he was on duty and was some 1 kilometer away from Jhutaki VDC-based police post in Saptari district on Monday evening. Jhutki lies near Nepal-India border.
The group opened fire on ASI Subba, who was the in-charge of the police post, all of a sudden.


He was immediately rushed to Rajbiraj-based Sagarmatha Zonal Hospital. He was pronounced dead while undergoing treatment at the hospital.


ASI Subba had sustained bullet injuries to his right chest and thigh.  
The incident site is located in the border area, which is 20-km south west of the district headquarters Rajbiraj.
