KATHMANDU, Feb 12: The Indian government has handed over 223 vehicles to Nepal as an assistance for the upcoming election to the House of Representatives (HoR) scheduled for March 5.
Indian Ambassador to Nepal, Naveen Srivastava, handed over the vehicles to Home Minister Om Prakash Aryal amidst a special function at the Home Ministry on Thursday.

Joint Secretary at the Home Ministry Anand Kafle, who is also the ministry's spokesperson, informed that India had earlier gifted 61 vehicles in the first phase and 254 in the second phase.
The Indian government has also assisted 50 more vehicles for the Nepali Army. The vehicles were handed over by Ambassador Srivastava to the Chief of Army Staff Ashok Raj Sigdel.
Spokesperson Kafle informed that some of the materials to be provided to the Nepal Police have been received while some are in the process of receipt.
