KATHMANDU, June 13: The western low-pressure trough in the upper atmosphere, along with local and easterly winds, is currently influencing the weather in Nepal.
Generally, the hilly and mountainous regions of Karnali and Sudurpaschim Provinces, as well as Koshi, Bagmati, Gandaki and Lumbini Provinces, are experiencing cloudy skies, while other areas remain partly cloudy.
The Meteorological Forecasting Division has indicated the possibility of light to moderate rain in a few places in Koshi Province and in one or two places in Bagmati, Gandaki, Lumbini, Karnali and Sudurpaschim Provinces.
Heavy rainfall forecast in Bagmati, several provinces
This afternoon, it will remain generally cloudy in the hilly and mountainous regions of the country, including Koshi Province, while the rest of the Terai will be partly cloudy.
According to the division, there is a possibility of moderate rain and snowfall accompanied by thunder and lightning in a few places in the hilly and mountainous regions of Koshi, Bagmati and Gandaki Provinces, and in one or two places in other hilly and Terai regions.
Tonight, it will remain generally cloudy in the hilly and mountainous regions of Koshi, Bagmati and Gandaki Provinces, partly cloudy in the remaining hilly and mountainous regions including Madhesh Province, and mainly clear in the Terai.
There is also a possibility of moderate rain and snowfall with thunderstorms in a few hilly and mountainous areas of Koshi Province, Madhesh Province, and in some parts of Bagmati and Gandaki Provinces.
Heavy rainfall is also predicted in some places in Koshi Province.
