Preliminary police ivestigation shows that the incident was a result of dispute related to land and finances. There may be other reasons, we are investigating, police informed.
Now the arrest of the mastermind will only help establish the reason behind the attack, SP Kadayat said.
Rita Chaudhary, who sustained severe burns to the right side of her face and chest in the acid attack, is still undergoing treatment at the Nepalgunj-based teaching hospital. The first phase of surgery has successfully been held on Saturday, Dr Binod Karna informed.
"For the treatment, I have removed the damaged skin. Still, it will take a day or two to find out the depth of her burns," Dr Karna said.
