The lawmakers further noted that the visit helped boost achievements in political and economic spectrum.
The members of parliament spoke with the National News Agency (RSS) insisting that the Indian government’s response was in line with PM Oli’s goal of gaining new heights in Nepal-India relations which was set before the visit took place.
Madhesi People’s Rights Forum Nepal (Democratic) lawmaker Jitendra Narayan Dev hailed the agreement on development of the infrastructure for Tarai road, plans for using the railroad from Vikashaptam and the using the facility via Singabad of Bangladesh as an important milestone.
“PM Oli’s visit to India has made exemplary achievements in the relations between the two countries,” Dev said, adding “This is in a way a quantitative turnaround.”
“The major parties must also seriously view Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s suggestions for resolving Nepal’s political problem through dialogue and agreement among all,” Dev added.
CPN-UML lawmaker Lal Babu Yadav said the PM’s visit has helped in removing mutual misunderstanding. Yadav was optimistic the visit would stoke Nepal’s economic and social progress.RSS
UCPN (Maoist) Chief Whip Hitraj Pandey said the visit resonated with the traditional relations existing between Nepal and India. He said the visit taking place in a new scenario removed the stumbling block in the countries’ relations.
CPN (ML) lawmaker Aindra Sundar Nembang also made the point that the visit had morphed the sour relations into one friendlier.
Lawmakers including CPN-UML Chief Whip Bhanu Bhakta Dhakal, Dr Rajan Bhattarai, RPP’s Bikram Pandey and Sima BK are also participating in the visit.
Nepali Congress woman leader and former Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Sujata Koirala, NC Joint General Secretary Purna Bahadur Khadka and Sadbhawana Party lawmaker Dr Dimple Kumari Jha reportedly cancelled their planned visit in the last hour.
