Child injured in Sarlahi after illegally kept pistol explodes

RAUTAHAT, Feb 19: A child was injured in Sarlahi when an illegally kept pistol accidentally exploded.



On Thursday afternoon, 15-year-old Akash Ram, son of Rambiswas Ram from Dhanka village, Malangwa Municipality-4, was injured when the gun discharged.

The incident occurred near the Hanuman Temple, about 100 meters east of their house, while Akash was playing with the red-painted homemade pistol. Police said the bullet struck his right hand.


The injured boy is receiving treatment at the Provincial Hospital in Malangwa, and authorities are investigating the incident, DSP Saroj Rai said. Police have recovered one lock and the homemade pistol from the site.
