Pak minister stresses on enhancement of relations between medical institutions

KATHMANDU, March 9: A minister of state from Pakistant, Marvi Memon, has applauded the existing relations between the medical institutions of Nepal and Pakistan.

Addressing a gathering in Kathmandu on Tuesday, she stressed on the need for their further enhancement, including through institutional linkages and an increased number of Nepalese medical students in Pakistan.The gathering was organized by College of Physicians and Surgeons of Pakistan (CPSP) in cooperation with the Nepal Medical Council to felicitate senior Nepali medical professionals educated/trained in Pakistan.

During the function, Pakistan's ambassador to Nepal, Mazhar Javed, urged the Nepali doctors to make maximum use of the facilities offered by the Pakistani higher medical institutions, in particular the CPSP. D. Dharma Kanta Baskota, president of Nepal Medical Council and regional head of CPSP appreciated the role of CPSP in the field of medical education in Nepal, reads a statement issued by the Pakistani embassy.

Dr Khalid Masood Gondal, senior vice-president of CPSP gave detailed presentation on the recent progress in the field of higher education in Pakistan and the facilities available to Nepalese medical students.

The event was attended by over 70 senior medical consultants, deans, professors working at various Nepalese institutions and graduated from Pakistan.
