RSP’s Dr Swarnim Wagle wins in Tanahun–1

Wagle secured 38,040 votes, while his closest rival, Nepali Congress candidate Govinda Bhattarai, secured 16,231 votes.

DAMAULI, March 7: Rastriya Swatantra Party (RSP) Vice-Chair Dr Swarnim Wagle has been elected as a member of the House of Representatives from Tanahun-1.



According to Chief Election Officer Bishnu Prasad Upadhyay, Dr Wagle won with 38,040 votes. His closest rival, Nepali Congress candidate Govinda Bhattarai, secured 16,231 votes.

Similarly, CPN-UML candidate Bhagwati Neupane received 5,830 votes, while Nepali Communist Party candidate Bidyanath Dhakal received 2,393 votes.


There were 126,882 registered voters in this constituency, out of which 68,129 votes were cast.


This is Wagle’s second election victory from Tanahun–1. In the May 2023 by-election, he was elected with 34,911 votes, while his closest rival, Nepali Congress candidate Govinda Bhattarai, received 20,122 votes.
