KATHMANDU, May 11: A man riding on scooter was killed, and another was injured in a collision with a truck last night in Damak.
According to the District Police Office, Jhapa, the deceased has been identified as Ankit Limbu, 22, from Dobhan, Taplejung. In the same accident, Srijana Rai, 42, from Miklajung Rural Municipality-4, Panchthar, sustained serious injuries.

District Police Chief Rajan Limbu stated that the accident occurred while the victims were returning home from work. The scooter (8 Pa 4558), heading from Phalgunanda Chowk towards Beldangi, was hit by a truck (Ga 1 Kha 6437) coming from Beldangi toward Damak.
The injured woman received initial treatment at Damak Hospital and was later referred to B&C Hospital in Birtamod for further medical care. The truck driver fled after the accident. Both the truck and scooter have been taken into police custody.
